PRESENTATION

Full Performance
|
During 45 minute to 1 hr presentation, we will perform songs, dances and drumming from Ghana,
Cuba & Brazil. As with all of our presentations, we will involve the audience and present a dynamic performance. |

Short Performance
|
These presentations typically run from 10 minutes to 30 minutes long. During this
presentation, we will perform songs, dances and drumming from Ghana, Cuba & Brazil. In the interest of time,
there is much less audience participation in this dynamic performance. |

Educational Workshop "Akom"
|
During this one hour workshop, students will explore the Akom tradition from Ghana, West
Africa. Students will begin by learning some Ghanaian words, then progress to learning the songs, dances & drumming
of the Akom. In some cases, the group will be split so that the dancers and drummers can learn separately, then brought together
for the culminating finale. |

Educational Workshop "Maculelê"
|
Maculelê is an Afro-Brazilian dance & martial arts form utilizing "grimas"
or sticks. During this presentation (which should only be requested for high school students and adults), participants will
learn the movements and drumming for Maculelê and learn to move together in this exciting, fast-paced 1 hr workshop! |

Educational Workshop "Afro-Cuban Dance"
|
In this fun, 1 hr workshop (suitable for dancers and dance enthusiasts), participants will
be allowed to learn the dances of the Orisha (Yoruba dieites). Participants should arrive ready to move! |
